Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

General Questions

What is Bike Analytics?

Bike Analytics is an advanced mobile application for cyclists who want to analyze their power, heart rate, and GPS data in a professional way. It focuses on complete data privacy (device-only storage) and provides world-class metrics such as TSS, Critical Power, and CdA.

Which platforms is the app available on?

Bike Analytics is currently available for iOS (iPhone and iPad). We plan to release versions for Android and macOS in the future.

How much does the app cost?

We offer a 7-day free trial. After that, you can choose between a monthly subscription for $8 or an annual one for $70. Unlike other platforms, we do not sell your data, so we are sustained by direct support from our users.

Privacy and Data

Where is my data stored?

Your data is stored exclusively on your iPhone or iPad. The app does not upload your workouts, GPS coordinates, or personal information to any external servers. You own your data 100%.

Do you sell my data to third parties?

Never. Bike Analytics is built on a model of maximum privacy. Since we do not hold your data on our servers, we physically cannot sell it. Your analysis is for your eyes only.

Can I export my data?

Yes. You can export your analyses and summaries in formats such as PDF, CSV, JSON, and HTML at any time for archiving or sharing with your coach.

Technical Questions and Metrics

Do I need a power meter to use the app?

While the app works best with a power meter, you can also use it with only a heart rate sensor. In that case, Bike Analytics will estimate your training load using hrTSS (Heart Rate-based Training Stress Score).

How do I import my workouts?

Bike Analytics supports automatic import from Apple Health and Strava. You can also manually upload files in .FIT, .TCX, and .GPX formats via the Files app on your iPhone.

What is TSS and why do I need it?

Training Stress Score (TSS) measures the load from each workout. It helps you balance training and recovery to avoid overtraining and achieve peak form exactly when you need it.

How does Bike Analytics distinguish road cycling from mountain biking (MTB)?

The app automatically recognizes the type of terrain based on the power and speed profile. We use different power smoothing algorithms to provide accurate analysis for both the steady efforts of road cycling and the explosive demands of MTB.
